One of eleven papercuts from Yangzhou in Jiangsu province. A red papercut depicting three fish above a lotus pond, done with knife-cutting technique, pasted on cream paper.Lotus, lian, and fish, yu, are homophones to 'year' and 'abundance' repectively. These two motifs together form a proverb; 'nian nian you yu', meaning 'abudance year after year'.
