mask (dance & live theatre)

Dance mask, in the form of a wooden feline head, probably a jaguar, with a large crescent-shaped mouth, from which protrudes a leather tongue and two pairs of teeth. The eyes are made of two pieces of mirror, with the pupils painted on the reflective surface. Tufts of hair are attached to points around the mouth and eye-brows. The mask is painted yellow with black crescents and spots, and the mouth and tongue are red. The back shows signs of having been burnt in some places.
