Model fishing boat with sail

PY Manguin’s comments are based on his fieldwork in the traditional shipyards of the northern atolls of the Maldives and interviews at Male in March 1988 (results partly published in P.-Y. Manguin, "Les techniques de construction navale aux Maldives originaires d’Asie du Sud-Est", Techniques & Culture, 35-36, 2000, p. 21-47). The description given on the list [“Fishing boat when there is no wind” see Gardiner’s list in the historical file] is odd for a boat with a sail (but was not corrected in red like other incorrect descriptions). This fishing boat, as her name mas doni indicates, is comparable to no. 3.152, which is beamier. Comments on the latter apply to this model.
