Doll representing the royal retainer, also known as a shityou. the doll is wearing a white kariginu, a kind of long waistcoat, over a brocade kimono with a brown and orange design. The hat is known as an eboshi. In his hands he carries a stand on which there is a pair of shoes notionally belonging to the emperor. This doll would sit in the middle as we face the display.
