body modification board

Infant's headboard (body modification board). Consists of a carved panel of hardwood with four holes at each end through two of which at each end strings are threaded. The strings are threaded through a metal hoop behind the wooden panel and on the other side attached to a band of very robust fabric with an extra fabric band sewn to it in the middle at right angles, thus forming a T shape. At the end of the second band a pin is slotted through an aperture. A short section of string with a bead attached has become separated but is present.
