Woman's skirt. Coarse black bast cloth, closely pleated, decorated with a row of sets of metal studs made of flat strips sewn into rosette shapes; each set contains 28 studs in columns of 9-10-9; below rhis is a zig-zag line of similar studs. Below this woollen cross-stitch embroidery in angular abstract patterns; nearest the hem is another zig-zag line fo studs. The skirt is designed to be wrapped round; three rows of studs on each edge. red string at the waist keeps the pleats in place. L. 28"; L. of hem; 18'9".
