headscarf; textile (function unknown)

Large, almost square cloth, possibly a woman's headscarf. The cotton ground is made up of one large and two smaller pieces of cotton cloth. It has a deep embroidered border, worked in two tones of red silk, reminiscent of the patterns used in blackwork. At each corner of the plain ground is a large, identical square-shaped geometric motif. The cloth is stained.
