The ownership of this object was transferred to Nigeria’s National Commission for Museums and Monuments (NCMM) in November 2022.
A pale wooden comb (oyiya). Benin City. The comb is made from one piece of wood with long teeth. The handle is decorated with carved-out shapes and incised patterns. Made by Igbesanmwan guildmembers (ivory and wood carvers).
