Wooden lidded box for opium pipes and smoking appliances, with a lock. The box is red lacquered with a hinged lid and convex top, fitted with a brass arched handle at either side. There is a lobed rectangular brass plate with a keyhole at the front, to which is attached a hinged ruyi-shaped brass plate. The box is locked, and does not have a key.
