Flintlock cannon turn-off barrelled pocket pistol. It was made in England by John Waters in 1776. The wooden handle is inlaid with swirling motifs in metal, and on the rounded end is a metal carving of a scowling man's face. The marker's name is engraved on one side of the pistol, and underneath the barrel is a hallmark.
Attached to the object is a green rectangular label, which says: 'English 18th century. Flintlock cannon turn-off barrelled pocket pistol, maker Waters. Silver H. M. for 1776. Good order £28. (Damaged £18.)'
