Two letters addressed to Rev. Davidson and his wife, asking whether Rev. Davidson could hire or if he knew anyone would like to hire his friend Mr. Wang, who had brought the letters with him. The senders also asked Rev. Davidson to give Mr. Wang some financial support for his journey home, if there were no job at all. The first letter was written by Mr. Xie En-de, while the second letter was written by Mr. Zhang Shan-ming and Mr. Ding Rui-xuan.
