Vase of baluster-shape with long neck, flared rim, splayed foot and recessed base. Two moulded lion mask handles with rings applied on shoulder. The body is buff stoneware, covered with a pale grey crackled glaze. The foot rim is very gritty, possibly fired on a sandy surface. Three unglazed bands painted with iron brown wash with incised triangle-work on exterior rim, foliage motifs on shoulder, and floral and foliage designs above foot. Incised mark painted with brown wash on base: Chenghua nian zhi (made in the Chenghua period).
