Pipe case, two interfitting tubes of oval cross-section, carved from wood and polished. Incised design of landscape with mountain, waterfall and house on stilts with river below. Pouch, rectangular of red grained leather, lined black. Flap closure with enamelled brass clip - device of Daikoku on Japanese white radish (dai kon) with copper, gold and black detailing. Pouch attached to case by black cord with ivory bird -shaped ojime between.
