Rectangular hanging, kalaga, with a fulled red woollen ground, and decorated with multicoloured appliquè using fulled woollen textile, cotton textile, strips of braiding, sequins, and painted detailling. The decoration consists of a centre figurative panel, surrounded by 2 floral borders framed and separated by 3 curvilinear borders. Sewn on to the reverse at the top is a shiny ribbon with multicoloured stripes on a dark green ground to which metal loops are sewn at regular intervals. The figurative panel depicts a Jataka tale and is divided into 5 scenes by trees with one male figure appearing throughout.
