vase (containers)

Lacquered surahi or water bottle made of lotus wood, lacquered on the lathe. The main body and stem of the vase are black and are decorated in bands of floral patterning engraved in the lacquer and painted in yellow, green and red, and three bands of animal figures including birds, a dog, flying insects and a pig. The circular underside is green.
