Brooch. Trinket, used for holding either the 'surat-band', 'face-cover' or the 'chudda' or 'chador' (the all-enveloping black cloak worn by women). The gems have been removed and replaced with imitations. Round, made of brass with a central circular mounting into which has been put a miniature of a girl's face, surrounded by glass 'gems'.
