Oval lacquered basketry container with latticework lid. The basketry top is formed of narrow strips of uncertain material, covered in lacquer, crossing each other in three directions at an angle of 60 degrees, forming a hexagonal lattice. Decorated with two bands of floral patterning on the container, in black, red and gold lacquer, and a single band in gold against black on the lid rim. The inner surface of the container and the inside rim of the lid are lacquered red.
