necklace (neck ornament (personal adornment))

Necklace, glass, wire, string. Imitation pearls and red glass beads strung on wire with a blue glass amuletic charm as a centrepiece (this has an inscription in Arabic. Characters picked out in gold paint). To each end of the wire is attached a piece of red string and these strings are joined together finally with a tassel. A loop of string passes around both and may be moved to adjust the length of the necklace.
Part of a large loan to the Museum of items collected by Dr Samson in Asia and including other articles of personal adornment. Converted to a gift.
