Ivory cylinder with lid and bottom, carved figures [acc reg]. Ivory cylinder with lid and base, decorated on the outside with carved figures. Based on the shape of a brush stand, but taller, and made as a decorative object for export. The main figures are two farmers, one on each side, one kneeling and holding some flowers with a basket of fruit next to him and in front of a woman chasing a butterfly with a fan. The other farmer is leaning on a mattock or hoe next to a seated boy holding some flowers and next to a basket. In the background a man fishing, pine trees, a farm building, mountains, and a large peony. Base detached but present. Cylinder: 201h x 105 w x 90 d. Base: 102w x 88d.
