An incomplete chess set made of carved ivory. The pieces are supported on pedestals with circular bases and revolving concentric balls in the midsections. 16 pieces are natural ivory in colour and 15 pieces are stained red. There is a pawn missing from this part. The pieces in the white side depict British figures, with the flag on the rook piece depicting the Union flag. The red side represent Chinese figures.
