sword (ceremonial weapon)

Japanese ceremonial sword with a slightly curved blade and an ivory hilt. The ivory hilt has been carved all over with scenes of people and landscapes, and with bands of geometric designs. The metal blade has a heart shape carved into it near the hilt.

There is a blue-grey rectangular label with the object, which reads ' Removed from Library. 15th / 12th / 1950'.
