Black and white negative. This image features in Hitchcock and Norris, Bali, the Imaginary Museum (1995), image 131, with a caption reading: 'The last variety of Baris performed at Sukawana was Dadap, so-named from the parrying shields with curled ends representing the leaves of the dadap tree. It was danced by four men in a slow tempo with each foot in turn held out sideways for as long as four bars. The transition from one foot to another was marked by a slow, mysterious cry.'
