Correspondence and notes regarding items exchanged with the Otago Museum, Dunedin, New Zealand. Originally, the museum received a carved house-slab (poupou) in 1936 when Dr Harrison was director. His successor, Dr Malcolm, did not acknowledge the letters from the museum and the exchange was only completed when Dr Samson began corresponding with the director of the Otago museum. The Horniman provided a Tahitian adze sample and a Lambeth ware bottle for the early item and were subsequently gifted Maori bone and nephrite saws. Includes two original historical files.
