Papers relating to the life and career of Louis Green (1925-1997), professional guitarist who worked at the top end of the popular music business. Green was the Melody Maker's guitarist of the year in 1951. In 1960 he became a London black cab driver, but remained active as a semi-professional musician, leading the 'Louis Green Orchestra' of freelance musicians. These papers are associated with the Louis Green collection of musical instruments and they include the following:

One poster from Drill Hall dated 16 August (no year) advertising a comedy show called 'Just the Job' which featured 'Lew Green'.
Five press cuttings of articles reporting Louis Green's death in a traffic accident on 28 May 1997 and the tributes paid to him by cab drivers, fellow musicians and others taken from Taxi Globe, The Argus, and the Evening Argus. The press cuttings were disposed of after digitisation. The digital versions have been uploaded to the Archive catalogue.
