The Horniman Museum, 100, London Road, Forrest Hill, S. E.

One succinct presentation of the Horniman’s Museum open days, times and main attractions signed by R. Quick, Museum’s Curator, to be published in Hazell’s Annual (1, Creed Lane, Ludgate Hill). The Museum is open free of charge every Wednesday and Saturday from 2 pm to 9 pm, as well as on Bank Holidays from 10 am to 9 pm. Arrangements can be made for Schools, Societies and Clubs, so that everybody can examine at their leisure the objects of interest. The collection is divided into two main sections: Art, and Nature. The Art section houses exhibits from India, Japan, China, as well as the Elizabethan rooms, the Armoury or a variety of Roman, Greek, Egyptian Antiquities. The Nature section houses a vast entomological collection, as well as an equally varied Natural Collection (birds, beasts, fossils, shells, etc.). If the open days are not convenient, special arrangements can be made, upon request, for visits on other days.

These objects are only a part of our collections, of which there are more than 350,000 objects. This information comes from our collections database.
