Reception at “the Horniman Museum” at Forest-Hill

F. J. Horniman has invited the Worshipful Master and members of the Alliance Lodge of Freemasons, accompanied by ladies, to attend an inspection of the museum followed by a reception, on Wednesday evening (unknown year). The guests were first offered light refreshments, and then invited to a two-hour tour of the museum under the guidance of the founder and two curators. Supper was served at Surrey Mount, Mr. Horniman’s residence, followed by a selection of music offered by members of the Alliance Lodge. On departure, each guest was given a specimen of a rare butterfly mounted in glass, as souvenir of that evening.
