An article describing the lack of enthusiasm from Croydon in response to a lecture on the “Liberation Crash”. The lecture was given as part of a series by Reverend J. Stockwell Watts “for the benefit of the victims of Mr M J.S. Balfour’s too enterprising genius” The bottom left hand corner of the cutting is missing, meaning that some of the article is omitted, however there is a brief mention of F. J. Horniman who is mentioned to have offered £100 as a donation to the cause described.
