The model room is said to have attained “three new arrivals”: “a finely-executed native model of an Esquimaux ‘Kajak’. The boat also contains an Esquimaux man, along with various items of seal fishing equipment. The next model is a “Maori dance canoe”. The author gives a brief description of how the Kajak and canoe respectively were created, including providing the dimensions of the objects in order to give the reader a better understanding of how the original objects would have functioned. The author also notes that the canoe should not be confused with “the Welsh Coracle which is smaller”. The author notes in the Roman Antiquities room that there is a “very fine specimen of a Roman Amphora which was found in Primrose Hill in 1891.
