Carved brazil nut pod. Smooth, sanded top with several spherical holes carved in it to reveal the brazil nuts inside.

Ornamental plant used in herbal medicine.

Native to Amazon rainforest. Tough outer shells with nuts inside. They are so tough that onlyan aguti - small rodent has strong enough teeth to get into them. They are a protected species so often you see pictures of desolate deforested rainforest with tall Brazil nut trees.
