A silk ikat textile length which can be used as a 'chongkraben'. A 'chongkraben' or a 'pha chong kaben' is a waistcloth and is worn wrapped around the waist, with the ends passing between the legs and secured at the front or back. This is clothing worn by both sexes. It has a bright pink ground, with a darker pink section at each end. The weft ikat patterning has a repeating diamond pattern with 'brackets' either side, worked predominantly in yellow, with some red, blue and white - traditional Tai Khmer colours. Nowadays a chongkraben length may be cut and tailored into some other style.
