Modern wooden pendulum toy - pecking birds or hens. The hens' crests and coombes are painted red and black eyes have been painted on too. The hens' legs poke through little holes and the necks are flexible due to some string which is attached via little holes in the wood. A pendulum dangles from the bottom of the toy attached by some string and the weight of this when the toy is moved causes the hans to 'peck' at the wooden base of the toy.
