Wooden trumpet with horn bell.

This trumpet was collected in Nigeria by Mercedes Mackay. In an article she published in 1950 on the subject of Nigerian musical instruments she touches on horns of state of different Nigerian peoples, including the Birom who had a cow's horn mounted on the end of a six-foot hollow stick.
