Dulcimer, wood with wire strings. Trapezoid form. 23 courses, four strings each. Two sets of bridges shaped like chessmen, eleven on the left and twelve on the right (of which one is missing). The sound board is painted green, with two soundholes on the left and right, covered with red felt. On the front of the box is a decoration in veneer. With two P-shaped hammers covered in leather. Dulcimer labelled: BEST LONDON MAKE.
