Oval paper label: Joseph Scates Manufacturer, 40 Frith Street, Soho, London.' 6.25" diameter amboyna ends with simple fretwork and pine backing, flat. 48 ivory buttons, black and blue accidentals, stamped and bushed. One green leather strap, one later black leather strap, with nickel screws. Four-fold black leather bellows, black papers (probably painted). Square-end reeds, nickel, pan and action stamped 'J Scates.'
