English system concertina. Serial number 2846. Circular pan label: 'Wheatstone & Co. patentees, 20 Conduit St, Regent St, London.' 6¼ inches flat rosewood ends, with fretwork and bevelled edges. The pine backing behind the fretwork is absent but its mounts remain. 48 keys: 24 each side. Ivory with black accidentals, stamped with note names. Later leather straps, one brass and one nickel screw. Four-fold green leather bellows, with gold star papers. Round-end brass reeds.
