Oval paper label: 'Joseph Scates, 85 Renshaw Street, Liverpool from New Bond St. London.' 5.88" diameter rosewood ends, with simple fretwork and pine backing. 32 ivory buttons, black accidentals, stamped. Later brown leather straps with nickel screws. Four-fold green leather bellows with gold star papers and leather internal baffles. Square-end nickel reeds, pan stamped: 'J Scates.'
