Mādal, barrel drum, purchased in east Nepal. A double membrane barrel drum. The wooden shell scored with concentric lines around the principal axis at the widest point. The two heads of unequal diameter, with black paste tuning patches. The heads indirectly braced in a W-pattern. Leather carrying strap.
