
Piccolo. Keys mounted on two parralel axles that run lenthwise down side of top holes. Touches/keys are round with slight indentations in the tops and yellow felt pads. Embouchure is slightly squared and has no lip plate. Wooden endcap is metal inside and meets mouthpiece at narrow metal ferrule. Mouthpiece and body joint meet at tuning slide. This consists of a metal cork-lapped tenon on the body joint 19.5 mm long and a metal lined socket on the mouthpiece, which also has an inner tenon to fit inside the body joint tenon. A narrow ferrule appears at the lip of the mouthpiece socket. body joint is conical, bore at tenon: 11.2 mm, at bottom: 9.3 mm. Metal ferrule at foot. Inscription in gold lettering below tenon of body joint: YAMAHA/ESTABLISHED/IN 1887/JAPAN/62; stamped on tenon at back: 28855; overall: 12.28 x 1.77 x 1.10 in.; 312 x 45 x 28 mm
