Anglo-German system. No serial number. Oval brass plaque clipped and soldered to end: 'FF Hess Patent Metall-concertina no.174,' with 'FFH' monogram and coat of arms. Rectangular brass plaque: 'No.5695, registered June 29th 1875, London, Manufactured in Germany' with Royal coat of arms. 7.44" diameter thick mahogany slab ends with brass buttons, action plate and levers mounted on outside. 21 brass lever/key units: 10 each side + 1 air, finger plates stamped 1-10 each side. Later black leather straps on hollowed hand bars, two brass screws, plus brass restraining buckles. Eight-fold black leather bellows with gold star papers. Steel reeds riveted to single reed plate.
