Taxidermy case of two adult male, one adult female, one immature male and one immature female Hoopoe (immature female no longer present). According to Edward Hart, writing on 18 April 1927, 'Bottom left (no 1): immature male, July 12th 1892, Dudmoor Wood, Christchurch; middle left (no 2): adult male, August 14th 1878, Portfields, Christchurch; top left (no 3): adult male, September 2nd 1878, Portfields, Christchurch; middle right (no 4): adult female, May 3rd 1887, Cranemoor, nr Christchurch; bottom right (no 5): immature female, September 9th 1903, Double Dykes, Christchurch. All shot at the places and on the dates as above by E. Hart, J. Penny, G. Penny, J. Barnes, F. Cousins respectively. Sexes may differ. Summer and winter plumage the same. Mounted by me'.
