Taxidermy case of adult male and adult female Common Merganser. According to Edward Hart, writing on 21 April 1927, 'Left (no 1): adult female, December 24th 1879; right (no 2): adult male, February 14th 1882. Both shot by me - no 1 at Dudmoor, Christchurch, no 2 at Crooked Acre, River Avon, Christchurch. Sexes differ; summer and winter plumage the same. Mounted by me'.
