Taxidermy case of three adult male and three adult female Red Knot. According to Edward Hart, writing on 4 May 1927, 'Far left (no 1): adult male, 18th May 1880, summer plumage; (no 2): adult male, 18th May 1871, summer plumage; (no 3): adult female, May 18th 1880, summer plumage; (no 4): adult female, May 18th 1871, summer plumage; (no 5): adult male, September 1867, winter plumage; (no 6): adult female, January 1886, winter plumage. Shot by me in Christchurch Harbour. Sexes differ in summer plumage, alike in winter plumage. Summer and winter plumage differ. Mounted by me'.
