A framed text decribing the use of the 'Calumet of Peace' pipe used by the Cherokee of North America. The text is handwritten in black ink, on paper that was probably blue, but which has become discoloured. The frame is wooden and painted in layers of brown and gold. There is a metal loop for hanging the object at the top.
