The Museum will close 5-5.30pm on Thursday 6 March to prepare for the Late. The Gardens will close at 5.30pm.
A container made from a whole gourd with the lid cut out in a 12 pointed star shape. The whole of the outside has been intricately carved with scenes of people and animals. This includes; people eating at a table inside a house, lamas being loaded with goods, a dog and birds, a cow being milked, men playing instruments, a bull, men fighting and 2 men in an early car with a crank handle. These details have all been picked out in orange and brown pigments.
These objects are only a part of our collections, of which there are more than 350,000 objects. This information comes from our collections database.
