Model of an ocean-going sailing canoe with two asymmetrical hulls. The hulls are joined together by a large square platform, and the boat is rigged with a mast and sail. There is the remains of a deckhouse constructed from twigs, leaf strips and bark cloth, which is somewhat broken down, and it may be that this was once mistaken for a sail. The wood has been varnished, and is pinned with small panel pins in a number of places. The platform is cut from a small piece of photographer's mounting card.
The canoe is accompanied by two wooden paddles, and a large, roughly triangular sail made of woven plant fibre.
