Rectangular needlework box with hinged lid. The outside is lacquered dark brown and decorated with mother of pearl inlay. The inside of the lid has a decorated rectangular inset held in place with an attached metal hook. In the bottom of the box is a fixed tray insert which has been padded and also covered with red satin. The remainer of the sides has been covered with silver-coloured paper. On the lid and on each of the sides are rectangular inlaid frames with ornate corners or top sides. Each of these contains depictions of travelling or fighting scenes set in various landscapes.
