Carved and painted wooden tea caddy with lid. Body carved from a single section of bamboo, smooth inside but with deep vertical grooves around the outside, which is slightly everted at the base and incurving at the mouth. The base is formed of the bamboo nodule. Alternate grooves have been lacquered red on the outside. Lid of one piece of wood with three concentric tiers, each carved with petal-like grooves, and terminating in a pointed finial. Lacquered red.
