A bamboo Kanowit basket with a square base. The basket is reinforced with red-stained uprights at each corner which extend beneath the basket to form feet, and a single rim of rattan cane around the circular rim of the basket beneath another narrower one. These uprights and cane are bound at intervals with narrow strips of natural-coloured bamboo. The main body of the basket has a diagonal twill weave and geometrical patterning in red and black against a natural background.
