A bamboo carrying basket. The base is square and the basket is reinforced with black stained lengths of bamboo on the edges of the base, red-stained uprights at each corner and a double rim of rattan cane towards the upper rim of the basket. These uprights and cane are bound with narrow strips of natural-coloured bamboo at intervals. There is a diagonal twill weave and geometrical patterning in red and black against a natural background. A twined strap of undyed fibre is attached to each of the two sides of the basket for carrying. The basket would originally have had a lid.
