'Triangular' sample of a red velvet textile decorated with appliquèd twill-woven, gold-coloured metal banding. One side of the textile is rounded, and all 29 sections of banding have been applied on a curve. The banding is decorated with linked diamond outlines of varying size. They are worked mainly in metal-wrapped thread, but have a metal strip border. On the reverse are what appears to be remnants of black silk satin and cream tabby-woven cotton lining.
